Job Summary
The Senior Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and optimizing electrical maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment and facility electrical systems. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment performance, implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations
Supervise daily electrical maintenance activities and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians and electricians.
Ensure prompt troubleshooting and resolution of electrical breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Monitor the performance of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure operational reliability.
Coordinate maintenance activities with Production and other departments to maximize equipment availability.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
Plan and schedule maintenance activities to ensure optimal utilization of manpower and resources.
Analyze equipment failure trends and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability.
Maintain maintenance records and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
Electrical Systems Management
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical panels, motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and distribution networks.
Oversee maintenance and programming support for PLCs, VFDs, HMI systems, sensors, and industrial automation equipment.
Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
Support energy management initiatives and identify opportunities for energy optimization.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
Lead root cause analysis investigations for major equipment failures.
Recommend and implement reliability improvement projects.
Participate in equipment upgrades, new installations, commissioning, and plant expansion projects.
Support spare parts optimization and inventory management activities.
Team Management
Supervise and evaluate electrical maintenance technicians and contractors.
Provide technical coaching and on-the-job training to maintenance staff.
Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures and safety requirements.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Enforce electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with HSE policies.
Participate in risk assessments and safety audits.
Maintain compliance with local regulations and company standards.
