Job Description – Logistics Operations, Pricing, Accounting & Shipping Agency Officer
Department: Logistics / Finance / Shipping Operations
Reports To: Department Manager
Job Purpose
The role is responsible for managing and following up all shipping operations, pricing activities, general accounting tasks, and shipping agency coordination to ensure smooth execution of import, export, and domestic logistics operations, while maintaining cost efficiency and maximizing shipment profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Pricing
Prepare freight quotations for sea, air, and land shipments.
Negotiate rates with shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents.
Coordinate bookings with shipping lines and carriers.
Follow up shipments from booking until final delivery.
Review shipping documents, including:
BL / HBL / AWB
Packing List
Commercial Invoice
Manifest
Coordinate with customs clearance and inland transportation teams.
Resolve operational delays and shipment-related issues.
General Accounting
Record daily journal entries for revenues and expenses.
Review shipment costing and calculate profit per shipment.
Follow up customer and supplier accounts.
Handle bank reconciliations and petty cash.
Review freight, customs, and clearance invoices.
Prepare monthly financial reports.
Follow up tax and VAT requirements.
Shipping Agency
Coordinate with shipping lines and marine agencies.
Handle vessel arrival and departure procedures.
Prepare Manifest and Delivery Orders.
Follow up container loading and discharge activities.
Coordinate with ports, customs, and clients.
Monitor Demurrage, Detention, and Claims.
Prepare vessel and container movement reports.
