Job Description
الوصف الوظيفي
The Senior Oracle Apps DBA is responsible for the architecture, implementation, maintenance, performance, and security of Gemma's critical Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) R12 environments and their underlying Oracle databases. The role ensures high availability, optimal performance, and robust disaster recovery across both production and non-production environments, and leads database and EBS release upgrades and patching.
This is a senior, ownership-level role: the successful candidate is expected to design and govern the database environment, not simply operate it under instruction.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and maintain Oracle EBS R12 application tiers and the underlying Oracle databases — installation, configuration, and day-to-day operation.
Plan and execute patching for both the EBS application and the database (using the AD utilities — adpatch, or adop online patching for R12.2), and lead EBS and database release upgrades.
Clone and refresh environments (production to test / development / UAT) using Rapid Clone and AutoConfig.
Monitor and tune performance at both the database and application-tier levels — SQL tuning, concurrent manager tuning, and instance parameters.
Design and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN; implement and regularly test disaster recovery (e.g., Oracle Data Guard standby databases).
Implement and maintain high availability where applicable (e.g., Oracle RAC).
Manage database and EBS security — schema and user/responsibility administration, security patching, auditing, and access control.
Administer the EBS technology stack — concurrent managers, Workflow, Forms, Reports, and the application-server tier (OC4J for R12.1 / Oracle WebLogic for R12.2).
Maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures; participate in on-call and incident response for production issues.
Coordinate with functional teams, developers, and Oracle Support (Service Requests via My Oracle Support).
